Under a hot August sun, the 24mx MiniEnduro European Cup experienced its last event of the 2024 season. In the city of Meltewitz, Germany, our little champions battled in a truly tough two days, with three special tests prepared from the SHC Meltewitz motoclub really challenging. In fact, each of the special tests featured some passages on trunks, stones and tires which put the resistance of our little champions to the test.
After having met the winner of the Women 125 Mini yesterday, which this year too goes to the French Charlene Boudon, the other classes were assigned today.
Emerick Vergote
In the 125 Mini, Boudon’s compatriot Emerick Vergote excelled and, thanks to sixth place today, managed to bring home the FIM Europe gold medal. Gioele Scibilia and Matteo Giuliani finished behind Vergote in the championship. In the day’s ranking, the German Henry Strauss once again climbed to the top step of the podium in the 125 Mini, taking home an excellent 1-1- here in Meltewitz. In second position Giuliani, who gave Strauss a hard time today, and in third Gioele Scibilia, who took home an excellent podium despite a blow to the hand suffered yesterday.
Davide Cabass
A heart-pounding race in the 50 Mini for Davide Cabass. The young Italian rider, after technical checks on the motorbike before taking it back to parc fermé yesterday, was forced to have an operation on the motorbike immediately after the start this morning due to a brake problem discovered by the stewards. With great determination Cabass managed to repair his Fantic and set off again. Bad luck did not abandon him and halfway through the race the Italian began to have technical problems with his bike which forced him to make an extreme effort to finish this last day. With 23 minutes behind his time, Cabass managed to finish the race and take home the victory of the 2024 season ahead of Nicolò Mancinelli, who demonstrated great fairplay by supporting his opponent, and Nicolò Pratesi. Mancinelli won this last round, followed by Pratesi and Cabass.
Evan Moschetti
Despite today’s victory, Cristian Marioli is unable to win the gold medal of this Cup, which went to Evan Moschetti, constant in every day of competition. Closing the podium this season was Duccio Girladi, who finished his last race in third position. The victory of the day went, as mentioned, to Marioli, followed by Moschetti.
With the first position in the general already in her pocket since yesterday, Charlene Boudon ran this day 2 without pressure. The Frenchwoman ended the sixth day in third position, with the victory going to her compatriot Jean Satine and second place going to Maja Kozlowska. In the 24mx MiniEnduro European Cup the final podium of the Women 125 Mini saw Boudon, Satine and the German Lea Meier in order.
Anika Dal Pezzo
Difficult weekend also for Anika dal Pezzo, who was unable to find the right feeling with these particularly hard terrains. Despite the difficulties, the young Italian took home this season’s gold medal, climbing to the top step of the podium ahead of her compatriots Sofia Chermaz and Michelle Sinigaglia. As for today’s results, the Polish Sara Doplak set the best time, followed by Chermaz and Dal Pezzo.
A season that touched three European countries: Italy, France and Germany. Riders from all over the continent battled as a sign of peace and friendship between peoples, characteristics that distinguish Enduro and which the promoter, together with FIM Europe and the European Parliament wanted to recognize in a plate presented to the motorcycle club organizer during the awards ceremonies.
