Excellent second day for the 24mx MiniEnduro European Cup in Aviano. A blue sky and a warm sun accompanied the 90 riders competing throughout the day, making the special tests perfect. In fact, the sun dried the ground, especially that of the Cross Test, making it fun for the riders and spectacular for the public behind the tape.
The start of the race was, like yesterday, at 9:00, but this time from the Paddock. The first special test that the competitors encountered along the track was the Enduro Test, designed on stony terrain and undergrowth. Once the test was over, the riders reached, 10 minutes later, the Cross Test, designed on an immense lawn.
The leaders of the overall ranking were the Sweden Wiggo Lifvendahl and the Polish Michal Laska who were separated by a few hundredths throughout the day. At the end of the 8 scheduled special tests, the Sweden took the victory on Day 2 by just three seconds. Behind him is the Polish while in third place we find the Frenchman Emerick Vergote. Yesterday’s winner, Gioele Scibilia, was unlucky as he was forced into a comeback race due to a problem on the first stage. Fourth place for him at the end of the day. The three protagonist riders of the Overall were the star performers of the 125 Mini class. In the other classes, Davide Cabass confirms himself in the 50 Mini class, winning ahead of Nicolò Mancinelli while in the Junior the winner on day 2 was Evan Moschetti, who manages to win the class ahead of Andrea Surini and Duccio Giraldi. In the Women 125 it is again French dominance with Charlene Boudon first. Behind her are her compatriot Jean Santine and the Italian Camilla Nibbi while in the Women Junior it is still an all-Italian podium thanks to Anika Dal Pezzo, who does an encore on this second day, Sofia Chermaz and Michelle Sinigaglia.
A truly exciting and fun first round which gave the young riders a great experience. Thanks to all those who took part in this event, to the organizer, the Pedemontano motoclub, to Maurizio Micheluz who masterfully designed the track and the specials, to Fim Europe, to the promoter, to the Italian Federation and, of course, to all the riders.
See you in Monteils, France, for the second round of the 24mx MiniEnduro European Cup on 13 and 14 July 2024.
